Banana plants are herbs. A banana plant is botanically a herb, meaning that they have no wood to support the stem. They use water to support their stems and they can actually wilt when it is too dry. The advantage of being a herb is their speed of growth and many of our bananas that we grow reach the top of the tunnel in (3 metres) in just seven months.
